Teens Arraignment In Patchogue Slaying Delayed
The seven teenagers charged with a gang assault that left 37-year-old Ecuadorean immigrant Marcelo Lucero dead will likely be arraigned in a Riverhead courtroom later this week instead of today as first expected, court officials and defense lawyers said yesterday.
The teenagers have been indicted by a Suffolk grand jury. The indictment, which could include more serious charges, will be unsealed at the time of the arraignment, court officials said.
Jeffrey Conroy, 17, of Medford, now faces first-degree manslaughter charges and is accused of a hate crime. Conroy and the other six defendants also face gang assault charges. They are Jordan Dasch, 17, of Medford; Anthony Hartford, 17, of Medford; Nicholas Hausch, 17, of Medford; Christopher Overton, 16, of East Patchogue; Jose Pacheco, 17 of East Patchogue; and Kevin Shea, 17, of Medford.
